"President Donald Trump Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize"

Trump has just been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.

The nomination was submitted by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of Norwegian Parliament. Tybring-Gjedde praised Trump’s effort towards resolving drawn-out conflicts around the world, like helping to broker peace, between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

Other examples Tybring-Gjedde gave in his nomination letter were the president’s, “key role in facilitating contact between conflicting parties and creating new dynamic in other protracted conflicts, Such as the Kashmir border dispute between India and Pakistan, and the conflict between North and South Korea.”Tybring-Gjedde also praised Trump for withdrawing a large number of troops from the Middle East.

This is not the first time Trump has been nominated for thr Peace Prize. He was nominated in 2018 following the U.S president’s, Singapore summit with Kim Jong Un, Trump did not win. At a news conference Trump said, “ I think I’m going to get a Nobel Prize for a lot of things if they gave it out fairly which they don’t.”

Fair or not, there are four other U.S presidents who have received this prestigious award. They were Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Woodrow Wilson, and Theodore Roosevelt. Tybring-Gjedde said that he is not a big Trumph supporter, but the committee should judge him based on these facts, not the way he behaves in general.

The winner of the prize for 2021 will not be announced until October of next year. Do you think he will get it?
